PANAJI: Goa Crime Branch has arrested the eighth accused, Dinanath s/o Triloki Kori, 32, in connection with the Porvorim shooting case registered at Porvorim Police Station under Crime No. 66/2026.
According to the Crime Branch, credible information was received on September 29 regarding the movement of the absconding accused in the Sion–Trombay Road area of Mumbai. Acting on the information and with the assistance of technical surveillance, police traced and intercepted Kori at Chunabhatti, Mumbai, and subsequently arrested him.
The arrest was carried out by a Crime Branch team comprising PI Mahesh Gadekar, PSI Madhav Naik, PC Sunil Begur and PC Uddesh Shirodkar, under the supervision of PI Tushar Lotlikar and DySP Suraj Harlankar.
During the investigation, Kori allegedly identified two vehicles suspected to have been used in the commission of the offence. The vehicles were identified as a white Toyota Corolla bearing registration number MH-12-CY-1949 and a golden Maruti Suzuki SX4 bearing registration number MH-02-BD-2508.
Both vehicles were subsequently traced and seized through proper attachment panchanamas in the presence of a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team for further forensic examination.
The investigation is currently underway at the Crime Branch under PI Nikhil Palekar.
