Panaji: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant launched the Goa Ujjwala Yojana 2026 in the presence of Union Minister Shri Shripad Naik, describing it as a landmark initiative aimed at providing financial relief to Goan households, particularly women, towards cooking fuel expenses.
Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive financial assistance equivalent to the cost of three domestic LPG cylinders every financial year. The Goa Government has made a ₹100 crore provision for the implementation of the scheme.
Speaking at the launch, CM Sawant said the initiative is aimed at strengthening household financial security and reducing the financial burden of cooking fuel expenses on eligible families.
The Chief Minister said the scheme reflects the government's commitment to translating its promises into welfare measures that directly benefit people.
“From promise to delivery, the Goa Government is empowering people, supporting families and strengthening household financial security,” the Chief Minister said.
The scheme is expected to provide additional financial support to eligible Goan households while easing their annual LPG expenses.
