SANGUEM, October 2, 2026: Marking Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and as part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sanguem Mandal organised a cleanliness drive at the Vimeshwar Temple premises in Rivona on Friday.
The initiative was held while commemorating the 25 years of service and dedication of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The cleanliness drive was attended by Social Welfare Minister and Sanguem MLA Subhash Phal Dessai, along with BJP office-bearers, party workers and local residents, who participated in the initiative.
During the campaign, cleaning activities were carried out in and around the Vimeshwar Temple premises as well as at a nearby water source. The initiative highlighted the importance of keeping public and religious places clean while also protecting local water resources.
Mahatma Gandhi had placed special emphasis on cleanliness, and the campaign highlighted the message that cleanliness should not remain limited to a single day but should become an integral part of everyday life.
The organisers also appealed to citizens to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings and contribute towards the goal of clean surroundings, protected water sources and a healthy society.
BJP Sanguem Mandal office-bearers, workers and local residents participated in the cleanliness drive and collectively took a pledge to uphold cleanliness and social responsibility.
