65-Year-Old Woman Injured After Car Hits Motorcycle At Amona Junction

BICHOLIM: A 65-year-old woman sustained grievous injuries after a Swift car allegedly driven rashly and negligently collided with a motorcycle at Amona Junction, Bicholim, on September 7.

According to a complaint filed by Head Constable Prasad Gaonkar of Bicholim Police Station, the accident occurred at around 12.30 pm near the junction.

Police said the accused, Krishna Shivram Desai (55) of Manaswada, Kundem, Sankhalim, was driving a Swift car bearing registration GA-05-B-7919 from Virdi towards Marcel when he allegedly lost control and rammed into a Splendor motorcycle bearing registration GA-04-J-8141.

The motorcycle was being ridden by Krishna Milan Naik (55) of Dakul Maina, Navelim, Bicholim, with Sunita Suresh Naik (65) of Ambhekhandwada, Verem, Bardez, travelling as the pillion rider.

Sunita suffered a grievous injury to her right leg. She was initially taken to the Community Health Centre, Sankhalim, in a 108 ambulance before being referred to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, for further treatment.

She remains under treatment at GMC Bambolim.

The complaint was registered by Head Constable Gaonkar at around 6.43 pm on September 9, following an inquiry into the motor vehicle accident case registered at Bicholim Police Station.
