PANAJI: Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant felicitated nine outstanding teachers for their exemplary contribution to education at the Chief Minister’s VASHISTHA Guru Puraskar 2025-26 and Teachers’ Day Celebration held in Panaji.
The programme was organised by the Directorate of Education, Government of Goa, and was attended by Union Minister Shri Shripad Naik, MP Shri Sadanand Shet Tanavade, senior government officials and teachers.
During the event, CM Sawant honoured nine teachers for their dedicated service and contribution to shaping students and strengthening the education sector. Assistant District Education Inspectors (ADEIs) were also recognised for their efforts.
Speaking on the occasion, Sawant said the Goa Government remains committed to strengthening the teaching community through teacher-centric reforms, resolution of long-pending issues, maintenance grants for aided schools and technology-driven education.
He also highlighted Goa’s implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), progress in coding education and the introduction of the Vidya Samiksha Kendra as steps aimed at preparing students for a rapidly changing world.
“Teachers are not merely educators; they are builders of character, creators of responsible citizens and architects of Viksit Bharat,” Sawant said.
He congratulated all the awardees and expressed gratitude to teachers across Goa for their dedicated and invaluable service to society.
