PANAJI: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has constituted a Chargesheet Committee to prepare a detailed report on what the party describes as the failures, corruption, misgovernance and unfulfilled promises of the BJP-led government in Goa.
The chargesheet will be used during the Congress’ statewide Goem Rakhon Yatra, which is aimed at taking the party’s campaign and issues directly to people across the state.
The committee will be headed by Sunil Kawthankar. Its members include Rahul Mahambrey, C.A., Adv. Amit Ashok Palekar, Mangaldas V. Naik, Adv. Shashank Narvekar, Rajesh Verenkar, Assiz Noronha, Adv. Archit S. Naik and Dr. Pratiksha N. Khalap.
According to the GPCC, the committee will collect documented evidence and prepare sector-wise reports covering key public issues. These include unemployment, inflation, corruption, the drug menace, law and order, environmental concerns, land conversion, education and healthcare, infrastructure and what Congress alleges are attacks on democratic institutions.
The party said the chargesheet will serve as the basis for an issue-driven campaign aimed at highlighting the government’s record and raising public concerns across villages and constituencies.
For coordination of the Goem Rakhon Yatra, Sunil Kawthankar has been appointed in-charge for North Goa, while M.K. Shaikh will coordinate the campaign in South Goa.
Congress said the initiative is part of its effort to build a statewide public movement and take the concerns of Goans to every constituency.
