Bicholim: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant dedicated the redeveloped KTC Bus Stand in Bicholim to the people, marking the completion of a ₹16.43-crore infrastructure project aimed at making daily public transport safer, smoother and more convenient.
The inauguration was held in the presence of KTC Chairman and MLA Shri Ulhas Tuenkar, along with MLAs Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, Shri Premendra Shet and Shri Michael Lobo.
The redeveloped bus stand features separate pedestrian and vehicular movement, barrier-free access and improved safety infrastructure, including CCTV surveillance. The facility also includes upgraded public conveniences, shops, a café, ATM facilities and dedicated parking.
Facilities for transport staff have also been upgraded as part of the redevelopment.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sawant said such people-centric infrastructure projects are aimed at improving everyday life and strengthening Goa’s journey towards Viksit Goa.
The Chief Minister congratulated the people of Bicholim and everyone associated with the completion of the project.
