Goa: Water Resources Department (WRD) Minister Shri Subhash Shirodkar distributed 60,000 marigold saplings as part of a government initiative aimed at promoting floriculture and strengthening Goa’s agricultural sector.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Shirodkar said the government is committed to encouraging farmers to take up floriculture, horticulture and vegetable cultivation as sustainable and profitable agricultural activities.
He assured farmers that the Water Resources Department would extend all possible support for irrigation facilities to promote horticulture and vegetable cultivation. The department would also support farmers with the supply of necessary agricultural equipment and quality seeds.

According to the Minister, strengthening local nurseries would ensure a steady supply of quality planting material and help farmers expand fruit cultivation across the State.
