As many as 81 of the 97 voters whose names were omitted from Goa’s electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) have applied for re-inclusion.
The voters have submitted Form 6 to the election authorities, seeking fresh inclusion in the electoral rolls. Officials said the applications will be verified along with the supporting documents before a decision is taken.
Authorities are also trying to contact the remaining 16 voters. Some are reportedly staying outside Goa or abroad due to work-related reasons. Officials said such voters can also apply online through Form 6.
The issue of the 97 omitted voters had earlier raised questions over the SIR process and the ECINET system, particularly regarding the procedure for reversing deletion decisions before the final electoral roll was published.
Meanwhile, Booth Level Officers continue to visit voters who have received notices regarding unmapped records or discrepancies in their electoral details. Supporting documents are being collected and uploaded to ECINET for examination by the concerned Electoral Registration Officer.
Election authorities have reiterated that eligible citizens whose names are missing from the rolls can seek inclusion through the continuous updation process. The process is also available to young and first-time voters.
