DABOLIM: Dabolim Airport is looking to strengthen its connectivity during the upcoming winter season, with airport authorities highlighting steady passenger traffic and the possibility of additional airline operations.
Airport Director Lt Akash Deep said Dabolim is currently handling around 85 flights and 13,000 passengers every day, while generating an annual profit of approximately ₹135 crore.
Addressing concerns over Dabolim’s future amid Goa’s dual-airport operations, Lt Akash Deep said there was “nothing to worry” about the airport’s functioning, pointing to its continued passenger movement and financial performance.
The airport is also expected to get a seasonal connectivity boost, with Aeroflot set to operate 10 additional flights during the winter period.
Meanwhile, regional airline Fly91 could also commence operations from Dabolim. The airport director said office space has already been provided to the airline and that it is in a position to start operations from the airport.
The remarks were made during the launch of the Yatri Seva Abhiyan, an initiative of the Airports Authority of India aimed at improving passenger services and creating awareness about facilities available at Dabolim Airport.
The campaign also included Goan cultural performances and traditional craft activities, organised in association with the Tourism Department to give arriving passengers a glimpse of Goa’s culture.
With around 13,000 passengers passing through Dabolim each day, the airport is now looking to maintain its existing traffic while adding more connectivity during the winter season.
