PANAJI: The Goa CGST Commissionerate currently has 20,960 registered taxpayers, who have contributed ₹1,143.87 crore in revenue to the Central Government up to August 2026, officials said.
Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Taxpayer Services, Mumbai Zone, Sumit Kumar, said that the accommodation, food and beverage services sector has made a significant contribution to the GST revenue collected in Goa.
Goa GST Commissioner Subodh Singh said the state has been given a target to collect ₹3,100 crore in GST revenue.
Kumar was speaking at a press conference held at the GST Bhavan in Panaji following his four-day awareness tour of Goa from September 28 to October 1. The visit was aimed at strengthening taxpayer services and increasing awareness about GST among taxpayers and stakeholders.
During the visit, awareness and interaction programmes on GST were conducted with officials of the Goa CGST Commissionerate, representatives of Goa Shipyard, traders and industry representatives, as well as students and faculty at BITS Pilani Goa Campus and the Goa University Business School.
The programmes focused on improving awareness about GST procedures, taxpayer services and compliance, while providing stakeholders an opportunity to raise their concerns and seek clarification from tax officials.
